a.j. Veneklasen, Inc. is a full-service general contractor and builder headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Today, our family-owned construction company manages projects throughout Michigan and in several surrounding states. We’ve traveled as far as California to serve our clients.
In addition to our design-build and traditional design-bid services, we offer construction management and building maintenance services. Our steel services erect both conventional steel and pre-engineered metal buildings and provide steel erection services to the general contractor division, as well as other general contractors and construction managers throughout the Midwest.
To better serve our clients, we also provide creative and professional commercial interior design services to help maximize space utilization while enhancing workplace aesthetics. In addition to working on new construction projects, our carpentry services cover demolition, restoration and remodels. Our designers and carpentry specialists take personal pride in their attention-to-detail.
Whatever your construction service need—feasibility studies, site selection, financing, land acquisition, or leasebacks through our AJV Commercial Real Estate division—a.j. Veneklasen, Inc. has proven professional experience.
Chris Veneklasen began his construction career in much the same way his father did. He worked summers during high school and while attending Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He studied business and marketing and when he graduated in 1995 he joined a.j. Veneklasen, Inc. full-time. He has performed in multiple capacities from steel foreman and carpenter to site superintendent and project manager. He has a full understanding of all phases in the construction process. Chris has the ability to see a project from the owner’s perspective and treats each project as if it were his own. He oversees all pre-construction services, quality control, customer relations, strategic management and marketing. He makes regular site visits and monitors the status of every project.
